MY OWN JOURNEY TO REMISSION
How Cancer Changed My Approach to Medicine
At 40, I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.
As an expertly-trained rheumatologist and physician-scientist, I never paid attention to eastern healing principles until my own experience during my cancer treatment.
My own disease forced me to go deeper.
Eastern healing principles supplemented my western medicine throughout my treatment, allowing me to take control of my own healing in ways that I never thought possible. Finding psychological and emotional healing helped my body recover its natural balance, and I have been utilizing these principles in my practice ever since.
My patients have responded extremely well to a blended treatment that unites the best of both western and modern healing.
From a scientific perspective, instead of activating the adrenergic system (flight or fight) to “fight the disease,” taking a calm approach of engaging in a conversation with the body is much more therapeutic and healing. This is how I empower my patients during treatment.

4 Steps to Remission
We cannot stress enough the overall importance of how important it is to collect information and understand your overall health portrait. In our programs, we collect detailed biomarkers and other information about you to provide you the most accurate and successful path to long-term remission, as well as to ensure that we know all of the risks against your health.
Disenchanted by the limitations of insurance-controlled healthcare and tired of the inaccessibility to proper medical treatments and diagnostics for my patients, I launched my own direct care practice for rheumatology, UnabridgedMD.
Founded in the spirit of transparency and trust, I built my practice as a center for hope and reprieve through rheumatology. With my direct care practice model, my patients benefit from a deeper connection with and a level of accessibility and service that is unmatched by competitors.
UnabridgedMD allows me to build stronger connections with my patients to study and treat their conditions on a deeper level to provide the unwavering treatment and care they need, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My primary practice is based in Denver, Colorado, but I can treat patients nationally through telehealth.
Finally, a Practice Dedicated to the Remission and Full Health of the Patient.

I bring unmatched service and rheumatology care to the Denver community with a commitment to clinical excellence, vast research and analysis, and years of experience studying, teaching, and practicing rheumatology. My extensive education spans years of studying under the best rheumatologists in Paris, France along with training at Mount Sinai and Columbia University in New York City. Through these experiences, I have obtained comprehensive training that challenged me to go beyond the means of treatment to focus on my patients’ outcomes.
In a field where process of elimination and inconclusive results are common diagnoses, I fight for answers and solutions for even the most complex rheumatologic conditions to help and empower my patients to achieve full remission.
Prior to opening my practice at UnabridgedMD, I was an academic clinician, teacher, and leader in the Departments of Rheumatology National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
I also have a special interest in post-COVID-19 rheumatologic conditions. I am the Colorado lead for the COVID-19 global rheumatology alliance. I also helped create the post-COVID-19 clinic at National Jewish Health and was its rheumatology lead.
