Working With the Body
Instead of fighting against the body, I believe we should listen to its wisdom.

As a doctor, I don’t see your disease or condition as the enemy, but rather another point of view that needs to be heard. I help you understand what is happening to your body, why it’s happening and how to treat it using a combination of traditional western medicine and eastern principles through qigong, meditation, visualization, energy healing and love.
Meet Our Growing Team
Isabelle Amigues, MD, MS, RhMSUS
As a physician-scientist and rheumatology specialist trained both in Paris, France, as well as at Mount Sinai and Columbia University, in New York City, my primary practice is based in Denver, Colorado, but through telehealth, I also treat patients nationally.
I spent the first part of my career as an academic clinician, teacher, and leader in the Departments of Rheumatology National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. As an academic clinician, I am an expert in accurate diagnoses and treatment of the most complex rheumatologic conditions including autoimmune and rheumatologic lung diseases, chronic inflammatory arthritis and fever of unknown origin, in addition to the full spectrum of general rheumatologic conditions. I am the one to see if you need management of rare and complex rheumatologic conditions.
I also have a special interest for post-COVID-19 rheumatologic conditions. I am the Colorado lead for the COVID-19 global rheumatology alliance. I also helped create the post-COVID-19 clinic at National Jewish Health and was its rheumatology lead.

Cancer Changed My Approach to Medicine
At 40, I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer metastatic to the liver and bone. Prior to my own diagnosis, I never paid much attention to eastern or complementary treatments as I was trained in western medicine.
But my own experience with cancer forced me to go deeper.
Ever since this experience, I have focused my treatment approach on the connection to mind and body and am trained in medical qigong. I am currently involved in medical research, including a study of qigong in COVID-19 long haulers with brain fog.
Even from a scientific perspective, instead of activating the adrenergic system (flight or fight) to “fight the disease,” taking a calm approach of engaging in a conversation with the body is much more therapeutic and healing. This is how I empower my patients during treatment.
I believe that the best way to heal is to see our diseases as a learning opportunity.
I am a believer in the power of meditation, visualization, energy healing and love. This approach healed me and continues to help my patients whom I am committed to helping on every level.
