Holistic practice

Our Mission:

At UnabridgedMD, we work with patients suffering from rheumatologic conditions such as autoimmune disorders and inflammatory arthritis by using the best of western medicine and eastern principles to encourage holistic healing.

We empower our patients to achieve full remission so that they can live the life they were meant to live.

Dr. Amigues is the first and only direct care rheumatologist in Colorado who can be directly contracted by her patients and

does not require referral.

(You can still use your out of network insurance benefit!)

A Holistic Approach

Dr. Isabelle Amigues diagnoses and treats patients suffering from rheumatologic conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Scleroderma, Sjogren, vasculitis, gout and other auto-immune and inflammatory issues, by applying a combination of traditional western medicine and eastern principles to empower her patients, learn from the disease and heal the body.

Patient-Centered Care

I believe that the best way to help you is to be a witness to your own healing.. To provide the best possible care, I have chosen to work outside the insurance-controlled medical model that often creates more obstacles than pathways. Bypassing insurance frees up time that I can redirect to my patients, giving me the ability to work with your mind, body and spirit.

This approach allows me to understand your condition and get to know you on a deeper level which provides the best quality of care. I am your first and last point of contact and I follow your
progress first-hand without the long wait times or the need for other doctors or nurses to be involved.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Tina B.

I" have been a patient of Dr. Amigues or over 4 years. I am a very complicated case. In fact I relocated from NJ to CO to be seen by her! Finally I had some answers. She does the testing that other doctors wouldn’t do, leading to an accurate DX. She is not hesitant to prescribe the latest treatments. I finally had a plan of action. It helped me tremendously to control disease symptoms. She’s provided her personal email and was always super responsive. She is a truer gem of medicine! I am so thankful for her medical care."

What is Rheumatology?

Rheumatology is the science and care of immune-mediated (autoimmune and inflammatory) disorders that primarily affect the body's musculoskeletal system.

Rheumatologists are excellent diagnosticians and may be the first clinicians, after a patient has seen several other doctors, to make the diagnosis of what is affecting a patient. I like to define myself and my colleague rheumatologists as “Dr. House without the attitude”.

Once a diagnosis of a rheumatologic disorder is established, a rheumatologist will offer a treatment plan that may include very specific targeted treatment.

For example, a patient comes in with severe joint pain that is worse in the morning, associated with several hours of morning stiffness and swelling. I have a consultation with the patient and make a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. We start treatment that helps the body restore the balance of inflammation, which then leads to remission (with treatment).

Another example of a rheumatologic condition is a patient that has severe swelling and pain every time they eat steaks. I confirm they have gout. We start treatment, including a specific diet, and their pain goes away completely, and in addition, we prevent cardiovascular complications (such as heart failure, myocardial infarction etc.).

And lastly, a patient with a history of the skin disease psoriasis develops joint pain and swelling. I make a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis and start treatment that leads to complete control of his joint symptoms and skin rash.
